As we headed into hay fever season, CIG Healthcare teamed up with Johnson & Johnson to produce an in-depth e-module focused on allergy and hay fever management.

This innovative e-module made use of interactive graphics and learning scenarios to solidify learning around hay fever symptoms. It delved into different products that can be recommended for symptom management, with a focus on the features and benefits of Benacort Nasal Spray and the Benadryl range. The additional interactive PDF supplemented learning, all backed up with a digital marketing campaign to increase engagement.

Understanding the impact of dry skin conditions

Working in partnership with Bayer Consumer Health, CIG Healthcare created a 10-minute e-learning module, ‘Understanding the impact of dry skin conditions’. This module covers how to support customers with dry skin conditions through advice in the pharmacy. It gives healthcare teams the update on the comprehensive Diprobase range, going into depth about when it is appropriate to recommend each product.

This essential learning for pharmacy teams included an interactive PDF and was accompanied by a marketing campaign to drive completions.

CIG Healthcare worked with Bayer Consumer Health to produce a 10-minute e-learning module, ‘Let’s talk tech’. The module is made up of a series of bite-size videos, focusing on the importance of technology in the pharmacy for improving efficiency, boosting sales and reaching more customers.

This valuable module is part of the Bayer Business Fit for the Future programme, created to help pharmacies effectively manage their businesses. The programme also includes a four-page print booklet distributed with P3pharmacy, accompanied by an extensive digital marketing campaign.

A 5-minute e-learning module was developed in partnership with GSK to help pharmacists support their customers with joint pain, equipping them to give expert advice and recommend effective products. The module was made up of short, engaging video clips covering different joint pain topics. Topics covered included: common causes of joint pain, recognising key symptoms of osteoarthritis and when to refer customers, joint pain management advice, confidently recommending Voltarol.

CIG Healthcare teamed up with Beiersdorf to develop an in-depth CPD module with innovative visuals, focused on Eucerin’s scientifically-backed product range. Symptoms are matched to products that are most appropriate, helping users to be confident in their product recommendations.

This in-depth e-learning module, created in partnership with GSK Consumer Healthcare, details how to make your pharmacy the first stop for cold and flu OTC care, plus a product knowledge update on the Day & Night Nurse range. The module includes self-care tips, supporting NHS England’s new initiative to alleviate dependence on GPs and putting the spotlight on pharmacy for minor ailments such as colds and flu.

Produced in partnership with Sanofi, the 5-minute ‘Tackling headache in the pharmacy’ e-learning module focuses on the combination pain relief product, Syndol Tablets, which is now back on the market. The module covers the symptoms of tension headaches vs. migraines, advice for customers with headaches and when to recommend Syndol Tablets. The training includes a unique 3D rotating Syndol Tablets pack shot with interactive features to enhance product knowledge. An extensive digital marketing campaign supported the module, including video overlay and rich media formats with links to the e-module.

Relief from the nasal symptoms of allergy

Working in partnership with Bayer Consumer Health, CIG Healthcare created multi-platform training to highlight the Clarinaze Allergy Control 0.05% Nasal Spray POM to P switch. This essential OTC training for pharmacy teams included a 5-minute e-learning module with a 360ᵒ rotating pack shot and interactive training hotspots. Training also included a 4-page print training guide, an interactive PDF, consumer leaflet and specific print training guides for Lloyds Pharmacy and Superdrug. This was supported by an extensive digital marketing campaign.

Seven Seas JointCare Supplex & Turmeric

Produced in partnership with Merck, the Seven Seas JointCare Supplex & Turmeric e-learning module introduces a new supplement used to support an active lifestyle.

The module takes just 5 minutes to complete, and includes interactive 3D visuals allowing the user to explore a rotating 360ᵒ view of the new pack. Clickable hotspots around the rotating pack encourage participants to learn more about the product’s ingredients and nutritional information, and gain insights into the product’s health claims. The module also provides key information on the importance of maintaining bone health and the role of a healthy balanced diet in the formation of healthy bones.

J&J’s ‘Winter Health Series’ is a three-part CPD programme, providing pharmacists and their teams with information on minor ailments. Released during the cold and flu season, the programme covers: Children’s fever, Congestion and Coughs. Just 10 minutes long, the modules are clear and concise, delivering key information using scenario-based practical learning and animated videos. They provide product recommendations, highlight the NICE guidelines and state when to refer to another healthcare professional. These practical, scenario-based modules are all about keeping customers healthy this winter. They support pharmacists to advise customers on winter ailments.

Stop Smoking Support: Helping customers quit for good with Nicorette

This in-depth CPD module, developed in partnership with Johnson & Johnson, provides pharmacists and pharmacy staff with information and advice to help customers quit smoking.

Using interactive graphics, the module gives users a rounded insight into nicotine replacement therapy (NRT) and an understanding of which Nicorette NRT products best match customers’ needs. The module also introduces new product Nicorette Cool Berry QuickMist, and highlights which customers are best suited to this product.

E-mail marketing, digital ads, video overlay and other digital activities supported the e-module in an extensive marketing campaign.

Bayer Consumer Health’s ‘Business Fit for the Future’ programme is a comprehensive, NPA-accredited package designed to provide pharmacists with the commercial skills needed to keep their business agile. Make it Count is the first module in the series, with tailored versions for pharmacy managers and team members. It explores how pharmacists and their teams can adapt their sales approach to engage with customers in order to grow their business and sustain footfall for the future. 4-page printed guide, sales force materials, leaflets and survey cards were also produced.

An e-learning module developed for the ‘Celesio My Learn +’ channel, which is part of CIG’s Pharmacy Network.

The module introduced a new testing service available to customers within Lloyds pharmacy. Just 10 minutes long, the training aimed to help pharmacists to determine a customer’s eligibility for the service, give consultation advice, undertake the Strep A swap test, obtain and read results, and dispense medication via the PGD.

Continuing professional development for the pharmacy team, CIG Healthcare Partnership produced a 4-page guide to update their knowledge on different types of dry skin conditions, the differences in the types of emollient formulation, how emollients should be applied, how apps can be used to support parents and children and how to use Doublebase Emollient Gel effectively. A prescribed emollient gel formulation that can now be recommended to customers over-the-counter.

The guide was circulated to all UK pharmacies via Pharmacy Magazine.

The aim was to aid the pharmacy team in reducing customer confusion within the category, so that they can ease any customer apprehensions on product choice and be more proactive in recommending appropriate treatment options.

The training focused on helping pharmacy staff to identify different types of customers and highlight which ingredients would best suit their particular needs.

The module also gave pharmacy teams the opportunity to update their knowledge of a new P medicine available in pharmacy - Benacort Nasal Spray (budesonide)

This blended learning package was produced as an online training module and paper based CPD supplement for pharmacists and their team, produced in association with Merck Consumer Health as part of their WE100™ initiative, which focuses on how the pharmacy team can play a vital role in helping their older customers lead longer, healthier lives.

The training package was awarded the NPA Quality Training Seal for Training Excellence.
CIG’s Pharmacy Magazine and digital Pharmacy Network were used to distribute the training to pharmacies.
